23 March 2011 - NATO PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY’S 76TH ROSE-ROTH SEMINAR KICKS OFF IN GEORGIA

Some 200 participants amongst which 50 members of parliament from NATO and partner countries, representatives from international organizations, non governmental organizations, government, media, academics and distinguished speakers will be gathered from 23 to 25 March for the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s 76th Rose-Roth Seminar in Tbilisi.

The delegates will address the political, economic and security situation in Georgia  in the context of its process of integration into the Euro-Atlantic institutions, as well as the general situation in the Caucasus.

Particular attention will be given to Georgia-Russia relations and to the unresolved conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia  . Nagorno Karabakh and the Turkish-Armenian rapprochement feature on the agenda.

The seminar, organised in co-operation with the Parliament of Georgia and co-sponsored by the Swiss government is the third to be held by the NATO PA in Georgia  since 2002 and the first after the events of August 2008.
