"I utterly condemn the perpetrators of the terrorist attack on the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad. This attack is an affront to democratic values and principles. Those responsible have shown their complete disregard for human life and their fear of the democratic process.

On behalf of all the members of the Assembly, I offer my sincere condolences to all those who have lost family and friends in this dreadful act of violence.  I urge the international community to redouble their efforts to assist Pakistan’s authorities in bringing to justice all those who conduct acts of terrorism against innocent civilians."
