Three Committees of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will hold meetings with NATO and EU officials in Brussels from 19 to 21 February 2006. The gathering of some 120 legislators members of the Defence and Security, Political, and Economics and Security Committees will include a lunch and a meeting with the Permanent Representatives of the North Atlantic Council on Monday 20 at NATO Headquarters. |

On Sunday morning, parliamentarians will be briefed at Palais d'Egmont by Ambassador Martin Erdmann, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, and by Jamie Shea, Head of Policy Planning in the Office of the Secretary General. In the afternoon, Ambassadors Richard Duqué, Rüdiger Reyels, and Victoria Nuland, Permanent Representatives of France, Germany and the United States will conduct a roundtable debate with the NATO PA members. Marshall Billingslea, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Investiment, and John P. Colston, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning, will address the group of NATO legislators on Monday morning. On Tuesday 21, NATO PA members will meet officials from the European Commission, including Olli Rehn, Commissioner for Enlargement, and members of the European Parliament, including Paulo Casaca and Karl von Wogau, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Security and Defence. |
