José Lello, President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA), together with Secretary General, David Hobbs, will pay an official visit to Armenia on 17 September 2008.

The purpose of this long-planned visit, at the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Tigran Torosyan, is to discuss regional political and security issues and to emphasize the cooperation between the Armenian National Assembly and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

Mr. Lello will undertake meetings in Yerevan with the President of the Republic, Serzh Sargasyan; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edvard Nalbandyan; Minister of Defence, Seyran Ohanyan and with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Torosyan. Mr. Lello will also hold meetings with the Chairman and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and with representatives of the factions of the National Assembly.
