16 October 2008 - MEDIA ADVISORY - NATO PA's 54th Annual Session

The Spanish Parliament will host the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's 54th Annual Session from 14 to 18 November, bringing together in Valencia some 340 parliamentarians from North America and Europe. |

The Plenary session on Tuesday 18 November will be addressed by José LELLO, NATO PA's President, Jaap DE HOOP SCHEFFER, NATO Secretary General, General John CRADDOCK, Supreme Allied Commander Europe Amre MOUSSA, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Kanat SAUDABAYEV, Secretary of State of Kazakhstan, Mikheil SAAKASHVILI, President of Georgia and other high ranking officials. The plenary meeting will also debate resolutions drafted by NATO PA's five committees addressing, among other topics, NATO’s ongoing operations, economic reconstruction in Afghanistan, energy security, NATO-Russia Relations and Kosovo. The Committees (Political, Defence and Security, Science and Technology, Civil Dimension of Security, Economics and Security) will meet on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November. As usual, they will deal with a broad range of topics and will be addressed by speakers from government, academia and NATO.
