Director of the Science and Technology Committee
At the Assembly since 1 February 2011

 

 

Henrik Bliddal joined the NATO Parliamentary Assembly as the Director of the Science and Technology Committee in February 2011.

Holder of a dual Danish and German citizenship, he graduated in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, in January 2010 by submitting a thesis on Reforming National Security Organizations – US Military Command Arrangements for the Persian Gulf, 1977 -  1981, a version of which was subsequently published at the U.S. Army’s Strategic Studies Institute.  As an active student, he was the Editor of the multidisciplinary social science journal Politik at the University of Copenhagen, held a position at the Department for EU Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, taught German and International Politics and participated in an exchange programme with Dartmouth College in the United States.

He has published articles and book chapters on international security and is currently preparing the book Classics of International Relations (to be published in 2012), as a co-editor.
