The Assembly’s Spring Session will take place in Bratislava from 29 May to 1 June, just a few weeks after Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia became full members of the Atlantic Alliance. |

The Assembly’s Committees will deal with a wide range of issues including post-conflict reconstruction in Afghanistan and Iraq, operations in Afghanistan, the war against terrorism, NATO transformation, nuclear proliferation, and the security relationship between NATO and the European Union. The plenary sitting on Tuesday 1 June will be addressed by the Assembly’s President, Hon Doug Bereuter; the President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic H. E. Mr Pavol Hrušovský; the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, H. E. Mr Mikuláš Dzurinda; the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Dr Mohamed ElBaradei; and the Secretary General of NATO,Mr Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
