Brussels, 5 April 2017 - I am appalled by the use of chemical agents in Idlib in Syria, and it is a source of grave concern that this follows several previous reports of the use of chemical weapons.
I utterly condemn these attacks. The use of these dreadful agents is both criminal and wholly immoral.
Those responsible for the horrifying suffering inflicted by these weapons should be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice for their crimes.
This outrage underlines the need for the international community to work in concert to resolve the conflict in Syria and bring an end to the dreadful suffering its people are enduring.
