2020 Draft Committee Reports

One of the most important roles of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is to inform Members of Parliament about the key issues facing the Alliance. A set of reports, authored by Rapporteurs elected by each Committee, serve as briefing papers on these issues for legislators from Assembly member and associate delegations.
Every year, the Assembly holds its Spring Session, during which members and associate members of the Assembly discuss the first drafts of these substantive reports. Taking their colleagues' comments and recommendations into account, the Rapporteurs then revise their draft reports for further discussion and adoption at the Annual Session in the autumn. Until the documents have been approved by the Committees at the Annual Session, they represent only the views of the Rapporteur.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Spring Session, originally planned from 22 to 25 May in Kyiv, Ukraine, had to be cancelled. As a result, the Assembly has put in place alternative arrangements to allow its Committees to meet virtually during the summer and early fall to examine the draft reports.
