Marc Angel (1963) has been a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg since 2004. In December 2013 he was appointed chairman of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs, Defense, Cooperation and Immigration. At the Chamber of Deputies, Mr Marc Angel moreover serves as: • Member of the Executive Committee • Member of the Petitions Committee • Member of the Culture Committee • Member of the Committee for gender equity • Member of the Public Authority Committee • Member of the Justice Committee • Member of the Interparliamentary Group on Scouting. Member of the Luxembourg Socialist Party (LSAP) since 1984, he is also a founding member of the LSAP SPIC “Socialists for Integration and Citizenship.” Since 2009, he has been serving on the Bureau of the Socialist parliamentary group. Full member of the Luxembourgish delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly since 2004, he has been elected Treasurer of NATO PA in October 2013. After the parliamentary election of October 2013 Marc Angel is president of the Luxembourg delegation to the Conference of Community and European Affairs Committees of Parliaments of the European Union (COSAC). At UNAIDS Marc Angel is the “face” for Luxembourg’s championship of the new treatment strategy 90-90-90. Marc Angel was a full member of the Luxembourgish delegation to the Interparliamentary Consultative Council of Benelux from 2004 to 2013. Born in Luxembourg, Mr Marc Angel has obtained a diploma in translation from the University of Vienna and a diploma in tourism economy at the Vienna Economics University. He is the President of the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) and taught in a hotel- and tourism management school before beginning his political career, which has also led him to become a municipal counselor of the City of Luxembourg in 1994, until today.
