Biography

Michele Barcaiuolo was elected to the Senate of the Republic in October 2022, representing Brothers of Italy. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, where he serves as group leader. He is a member of the Special Committee for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights. Before his election to the Italian parliament, Barcaiuolo served as a Modena City Councillor (2004-2014) and as an Emilia-Romagna Regional Councillor, and is the Regional Coordinator of Brothers of Italy for Emilia Romagna. He was a Member of the Board of the University of Modena and Reggio (2001-2003). He has been a member of the Italian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly since 2023; he is currently a member of the Defence and Security Committee and Vice Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on Transatlantic Defence and Security Cooperation. Michele Barcaiuolo was born on 7 February 1979 in Modena. He graduated in Law, and is a lawyer.
