MP of the First district of Gard Municipal Councillor of Nîmes Community Advisor of Nîmes Agglomeration Political party: LaReM, Auditor of the French National Institute for Defense Studies (2017-2018) Françoise Dumas was born on April 12th, 1960 in Ales. She was graduated in law and social work. She used to be technical director of social affairs of Gard. In 2001, she joined the President’s office of the General Council of Gard as a technical advisor in charge of social, integration and housing. Her electoral functions : In March 2010, she became Vice President of the Regional Council of Languedoc Roussillon. She was elected in June 2012 as a parliament member for the first district of Gard, then in March 2014, as a municipal councilor of the city of Nimes. Member of the Social Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, she has been working particularly on social work, child protection, social housing subjects, and also on culture and community life. In November 2014, she drew up a report to the Inquiry Commission about associations' difficulties. In the aftermath of November 2015 Paris attacks, she worked on a report to improve the legal response to the threat of terrorism. Françoise Dumas’s mandate as MP has been renewed in 2017. Thanks to her commitment on security issues, she became Vice President of the National Defense Committee of the French National Assembly. She is also member of the European Affairs Committee and member of the Delegation for the french overseas departments and territories.
