Mgr. Gábor Grendel was born on July 15, 1980, in Bratislava, Slovakia. He completed his education in journalism and Hungarian language and literature at the Faculty of Philosophy at Comenius University in Bratislava, graduating in 2003. Grendel initially pursued a career in journalism, working for the private newspapers and television stations. In 2010, he transitioned to politics, becoming the spokesperson for Daniel Lipšic, the then deputy leader of KDH.
Grendel entered the National Council of the Slovak Republic in 2016 as a candidate from the OĽaNO-NOVA party. During his tenure, he chaired the Special Oversight Committee for SIS activities and was a member of the Committee for Defense and Security. In 2017, he was elected as the chairman of the NOVA party, a position he resigned from in 2019 due to strategic differences within the party. He was re-elected to the National Council in 2020 and 2023. Currently, he serves as a vice-Chairman of the Committee for Defense and Securit.
