MUTSCH, Lydia (1961- ), Member of Parliament for the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP).
Born in Dudelange on August 8, 1961; graduated in political and social sciences from Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in 1985. She worked as a freelance journalist and ran a communications agency before entering politics.

2013-2018: Joined the government as Minister for Health and Minister for Equal Opportunities in the coalition government formed by the Democratic Party (DP), the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP) and the Green Party after the 2013 legislative elections.

1989-2013 and 2018- : Member of Parliament (LSAP), she was re-elected on six occasions. She is currently Vice-President of the Parliamentary Committee on Digitalisation, the Media and Communications and Vice-President of the Luxembourgish Delegation for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She is a member of the Committee on Foreign and European Affairs. She was Vice-President of Parliament from 2009-13 and presided the Committee for Health and Social Security from 2004 to 2013.
