Biography

Andrea Giorgio Felice Maria Orsini (23 September 1959) began his political career with the Italian Liberal Party, where he held the position of coordinator of the national executive board (1987-1992). He then joined Forza Italia, becoming national leader of the Electoral Office (1998-2004), president of the National Guarantee Commission and member of the Presidential Board. In 2001 he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies, first for Forza Italia and then for The People of Freedom. In 2018 he was re-elected with Forza Italia and then again in 2022. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, where he serves as Forza Italia's group leader, the Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Radio and Television Broadcasting and of the Italy-Israel Group on Inter-parliamentary Cooperation. In the previous Parliament he was a member of the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry into the death of Giulio Regeni. He has been a member of the Italian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly since 2018, where he serves as Deputy Head of Delegation. He is a member of the Defence and Security Committee serving as Vice Chairperson. He was formerly the Vice Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Defence and Security Transatlantic Cooperation.
