Senator of the 10th term Senate.
Born on 5 November 1970 in Poznan.
In 1994, he graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, obtaining his Master’s degree in history.
Since 1990 he has been cooperating with Gazeta Wyborcza. He held such positions as secretary in the editorial office of the Poznań branch, editor of the political department and head of the foreign affairs department. In the years 2007-2010, he was the paper’s correspondent in Washington.
Between 2010 and 2013, he held the position of spokesman at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Warsaw.
In the years 2013-2016, he served as Poland’s Ambassador to Canada.
Active member of the democratic opposition in the years 1985-1989. Active in the Student Circles of Social Resistance and in the Independent Students’ Association. He was an editor of underground magazines. Author of the book ‘Podziemie w Cegielskim’(‘Underground in Cegielski').
He worked with many media outlets and foreign institutions, including the German Marshall Fund and the Center for European Policy Analysis in Washington.
He is married and has four children.
In the 10th term Senate, he serves as:
– Deputy Chairman of the Foreign and European Union Affairs Committee,
– Member of the Emigration Affairs and Contacts with Poles Abroad Committee,
– Member of the National Defence Committee.
Member of the Civic Platform party.
