Juliet is the member of parliament for Broxtowe, in Nottinghamshire. She has a long-standing relationship with the British Armed Forces, in particular the service branch of the British Army. Her father is an Engineer, who received his training in Nottingham through the Territorial Army reserves in the 1970s. Following a career in the health services, Juliet later became a councillor, where her varied portfolio included public health; community safety, working in partnership with the police; equalities; refugees; and violence against women and girls. In 2024, Juliet was elected to Parliament, and serves as a strong voice for Chetwynd Barracks, located at the heart of her constituency. She has engaged with the armed forces both in her constituency, and in her role on the Parliamentary Armed Forces Group, which gave her the opportunity to stay onsite at training centres to learn more about Britain’s defence and security. She became a member of the joint committee on Human Rights in November of 2024. In her new role with the NATO delegation, she will serve on the committee on Democracy and Security.
