Biography

Marja-Liisa Völlers is a member of the German Bundestag for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). She holds a Master of Education and worked as a teacher at an integrated comprehensive school before being elected to the German Bundestag for the first time in 2017. Ms Völlers began her parliamentary career as a member of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment, and joined the Defence Committee in 2021. After serving as Deputy Head of the German delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly from 2021 to 2025, she now leads the delegation. In addition, she serves as a parliamentary whip for the Social Democratic Group in the German Bundestag. Marja-Liisa Völlers was born in 1984 in Bückeburg.
