Major General Adam JOKS has served his country for 28 years as an officer in different combat and support units. During his service he has occupied many command and staff positions from Infantry Platoon Leader, Company Commander, Infantry Battalion Commander, a CIMIC Officer in Land Forces Command in Warsaw, a Commander of the Central Support CIMIC Group in Kielce to Chief of Land Operation Directorate in Land Forces Command. He attended many different military and civilian studies and courses in Poland and abroad. In addition, Major General Adam JOKS graduated from the National Defense Academy in Warsaw and he received his Certificated Master of Art in National Security degree in the Warsaw University and National Defense Academy in the same time. In 2007 he finished Advanced Security Studies in George C. Marshall's European Study Center in Germany and in 2011 he graduated from the US Army War College in Carlisle Barracks in Pennsylvania and 2016 NATO College in Rome. Also in 2016 he finished PhD studies in National Defence Academy in National Security discipline.

In 2004 he was deployed to Iraq as a Deputy Chief of G9 of the Multinational Brigade Division Center - East of the third rotation of the Polish Military Contingent during the Iraqi Freedom Operation. In December 2012 he had been assigned to the 6th Airborne Brigade as a Commanding Officer and in 2013 August he was promoted to the Brigade General rank. In 2015 and 2016 he had served in Multinational LITPOLUKBRIG as a Commander. In September 2016 he had been assigned to General Command as a Chief of Aeromobile and Motorized Forces Department.

In July 2017 he was appointed to the position of the Chief of Staff in the Multinational Division North East.

By the Decision of the Minister of National Defence of 10th January he was appointed to the post of Deputy Chief in General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces.
