Ms. Vera Alexander was the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs immediately prior to assuming her current position as Deputy Permanent Representative to the Joint Delegation of Canada to NATO. Previous assignments include postings to London, Washington and Moscow. At Headquarters she has served as Director of Media Relations and as Director of the Democracy Division. She also worked at the Privy Council Office from 2006-08 as the senior advisor for Canada’s mission to Afghanistan.

Mrs. Alexander speaks English, French and Russian.
