Biographie

Marc Julienne is Head of China Research within the Centre for Asian Studies of the French institute of international relations (IFRI). He mainly focuses on China’s foreign, security and defense policy, as well as on domestic policy and the evolution of the Chinese national security apparatus. 

Marc Julienne has a PhD in political science and international relations from the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (INALCO, Paris). Previously, he was a Research Fellow at the Foundation for Strategic Research (FRS, Paris). He was an associate PhD Candidate at the Strategic Research Institute of the Ecole militaire (IRSEM, 2016-2019), and a Research Fellow at Asia Center (Paris) for two years. He was also a Visiting Fellow at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS, Berlin, 2015) and at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS, Shanghai, 2017).
